Our Training Services

  • Puppy Training

    Explore our puppy training packages to focus on building and reinforcing polite behaviors in your puppy! Can be booked standalone or combined with puppy daycare. Best for dogs under 12 months

  • Daytime Training

    Add training to your dog’s day at Fur Seasons! This is an add-on for any dog/s currently attending our daycare program. We will build and reinforce good behavior while your dog plays and has fun!

  • Board-and-Train

    For more specific behavioral issues or for consistent building of good behaviors while your pup boards with us. Choose from 1, 2, or 3 sessions daily with the option for extra off-site socialization training as well.

  • Training Packages

    Explore our specialized training packages that focus on specific behaviors within your dog. We currently offer Leash & Recall Training, Basic Obedience, and Socialization & Confidence Building for adult dogs.

The Fur Seasons Difference

We focus on building the bond between you and your pup by creating and reinforcing good behaviors in your dog, and giving you the know-how to maintain and continue training at home.

Puppy Training

Our Puppy Packages come in a variety of lengths to allow you to custom select a plan for your individual puppy that will work best for his age and particular learning style.

Our Puppy Program is available as a drop-in training style (bring your puppy in for their 45-60 minute session), or can be added on to our Daycare or Boarding services. Feel free to drop off your puppy for his training or attend the sessions with him! All Puppy Packages come with take-home homework and exercises to prepare you for training at home after the program has concluded.

  • Two training sessions per week for 4 weeks (8 sessions)

    Included Homework and Topics:

    Week One: Mark and Reward - intro to the Marker Word “Yes!”

    Week Two: Conditioning and No-Reward Marker - Classically conditioning your marker word and intro to the no-reward marker

    Week Three: Basic Obedience - Intro to basic obedience exercises, plus overview of different types of training: capturing vs. shaping

    Week Four: Interacting with Other Pooches - Healthy interactions with other dogs, how to avoid an overexcited puppy, and recognizing good play vs. bad play

    Each package can be tailored to your specific puppy, and we will work on any specific behaviors you request. The listed topics are included in your take home homework, but the training sessions can be altered to best fit your puppy!

    Package Cost: $450

  • Two training sessions per week for 8 weeks (16 sessions)

    Week Seven: Training Around Distractions - Proofing and generalizing a behavior and examples of training situations you can set up at home

    Week Eight: Management at Home - Jumping, biting, overexcitement, and guests, plus crate, place, and/or barrier training

  • Two training sessions per week for 12 weeks (24 sessions)

    Each package can be tailored to your specific puppy, and we will work on any specific behaviors you request. The listed topics above are included in your take home homework, but the training sessions can be altered to best fit your puppy!

    Package Cost: $1,150

Daytime Training

Does your dog already enjoy services at the Fur Seasons Pet Resort and Spa?

Our Daytime Training can be added on to day-boarding or daycare! Add some extra mental stimulation to your pup’s day and have your pup come home with improved manners.

  • Best for dogs under 12 months of age, this program consists of a half-day of daycare (up to 6 hours) and one 15-30 minute one-on-one training session and one group training session per day. Additionally, we will focus on reinforcing good behavior throughout your dog’s day at daycare!

    Cost: $40

  • Best for dogs over 12 months of age, this program can be added on to your dog’s existing daycare or boarding reservation and includes one 30 minute one-on-one training session and one group training session per day. Additionally, we will focus on reinforcing good behavior throughout your dog’s day at daycare or during playtime at boarding!

    Cost: Half-Day $45; Full Day $55

  • This training program is for dogs currently not eligible for daycare, but who would like to work toward integrating or re-integrating into the daycare setting. Best for pushy, socially selective, overexcitable, or puppies too young for full daycare. (We do not recommend this program for aggressive or severely reactive dogs, and likely will not be able to reintegrate into daycare. Explore our day-boarding program instead!)

    Your dog would be day-boarding in our Boarding Area in a private kennel with daily training 30 minute training sessions and some small-group playtime, if appropriate.

    *Enrolling in this program does not guarantee a dog will be eligible for enrolling in daycare.

    Cost: $45/half day $55/full day

Board-and-Train

For more specific behavioral issues or to build consistency of good behaviors while your pup boards with us. Choose from our three tier options with the option for extra off-site socialization training as well.

  • Best for minor behavioral problems or to slowly build better behaviors in your pup, this option includes one 30 minute training session per day during your dog’s stay.

    Daily rate: $85

    Add 60 minute off-site socialization/training session (including travel time): $30/session

  • Best for mid-level behavioral problems or to build better behaviors in your pup, this option includes two 30 minute training sessions per day during your dog’s stay.

    Daily rate: $100

    Add 60 minute off-site socialization/training session (including travel time): $30/session

  • Best for mid to high-level behavioral problems or to quickly build better behaviors in your pup, this option includes three 30 minute training sessions per day during your dog’s stay, daily training updates, and a personalized training plan with homework and training exercises to take home.

    Daily rate: $150

    Add 60 minute off-site socialization/training session (including travel time): $30/session

    This program sets your dog up with an excellent foundation to continue his recall training with you, with included homework and training exercises to practice at home.

    2 sixty minute training sessions per week for 6 weeks - 12 sessions

    Week One: Intro to Recall Training - Introducing the marker word “Yes!”, choosing and introducing your recall cue, best practices for recall training and what to avoid, plus when and where to train your pup

    Week Two: Leash Work - Working on recall on a 6ft leash, polite leash walking, and impulse control

    Week Three: Distractions - Adding more challenges to your dog’s training, and gauging when your dog is ready to level up

    Week Four: Body Language and Confidence Building - Overview of dog body language and communication, assessing other dogs in public areas, and training exercises to boost your dog’s confidence

    Week Five: Proofing and Management - More recall training exercises, and setting up distractions and different environments

    Week Six: Relaxation and Threshold - Learn how to set your pup up for success in public, recognize your dog’s personal learning threshold, and exercises to encourage self-regulation and relaxation in your pup

    Cost: $800

    Week Five: Drop It & Leave It - Intro to teaching “drop it” and “leave it” commands

    Week Six: Proofing and Management- Proofing and generalizing a behavior, and examples of training situations you can set up at home

    Week Seven: Impulse Control & Relaxation Training - How to encourage self-regulation and relaxation, impulse control exercises, and great everyday practices for a relaxed pup

    Week Eight: Proofing & Management - More exercises to proof your dog’s training and raising the challenge of distractions

    Each package can be tailored to your specific dog, and we can work on any specific behaviors you request. The listed topics above are included in your take home homework, but the training sessions can be altered to best fit your pup!

  • Best for nervous, anxious, or overexcitable dogs, this program focuses on healthy adult socialization and building a well-rounded, confident pup. Following is a general outline, but the program can be altered to focus more on areas where your pup needs extra help! This program is meant for dogs over 12 months - explore our puppy package to focus on puppy socialization!

    This program sets your dog up with an excellent foundation to continue his training with you, with included homework and training exercises to practice at home.

    2 sixty minute sessions per week for 6 weeks - 12 sessions total

    Included Homework and Topics:

About Our Training

We follow the LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) method, always favoring positive reinforcement first.

Our head trainer is CDTK (Certified in Dog Training Knowledge) and personally oversees all of the dog training at Fur Seasons.
